Welcome to the Fantasy
Stampers Challenge blog – I am glad you could join me at the beginning of my
journey.
Let me to introduce
myself …
My name is Jan (and some of
you might know me as Jaybe). I reached
the magical age of ‘50’ earlier this year and declared that I would try
something new – so here I am with my brand new challenge blog for you to enjoy.
I live in South
Yorkshire and am married with two grown-up daughters and my two
gorgeous fur babies who are never very far away from my feet.
I have always enjoyed
making things and started out like many others, learning to knit and crochet
with my nan and learning to sew with my mum (who was a qualified
seamstress). I later discovered
cross-stitching and have more finished samples than I could ever possibly hang
in my house!
I have been paper crafting
for over ten years now, after receiving a handmade card from a friend. I went
out and bought a card making kit for myself and the rest is history – you know
the story! After very quickly filling the dining room table and all the space
around it, I now have my very own craft space in my conservatory.
Crafting has now become an
addiction and I would love to craft full-time (maybe one day!) My first love is making cards and would
describe my style as mainly cute, with lots of embellishments – I often have to
tell myself to ‘step away from the card’! I also love making home décor
projects as gifts and for my home. I
have dabbled in all kinds of crafts, including art journaling, scrapbooking,
altered art, ATCs, zentangle and am willing to give ‘anything a go’. I also
sell some of my cards and gifts. If you would like to check out my work, you
can find my personal blog at:
My favourite technique has
to be stamping, hence the nature of my new challenge blog and my favourite craft tool has to be my Grand Calibur
which my hubby bought me for Christmas a couple of years ago (and I think I use
it every time I craft!)
I am also a member of the
Polkadoodles design team and have been for nearly two years now – so have an
understanding of how this all works and the commitment required.
When I’m not crafting you
can usually find me with my nose in a book - my second passion! Anyone who
knows me will tell you that I can’t walk past a book shop without buying some
new books. I love fantasy fiction and am
addicted to all things vampire related.
Well, that’s me – I would
love you to follow my new blog and spread the word about the exciting times
ahead. I would be honoured if any of you would like to display my new snazzy
blog badge on your blogs too.
Details of my DT call are coming up on the next post.
Bye for now, Jan xx
Good luck Jan in your new venture
